Jennifer Meyer is swinging into a new chapter of her life.
The jewelry designer, who was previously married to Spider-Man star Tobey Maguire, announced that she is engaged to her boyfriend Geoffrey Ogunlesi nearly one year after debuting their relationship.
Jennifer shared a snap of herself donning a black minidress with her sparkling emerald-cut ring on full display while Geoffrey wrapped his arms around her. She simply captioned the Aug. 31 Instagram post, “YES!!!”
Friends of the couple couldn’t help but share their joy over the sweet news, with Rachel Bilson writing, “Congratulations beauty,” and Olivia Munn adding, “I’m so happy for you!!!” Meanwhile, Goldie Hawn noted, “this makes us all so happy. I love you!!!” And Keleigh Teller wrote, “Oh my goddddd!!! YESSS congrats.”
And when Bianca Gates, cofounder of Birdies, gushed over the ring, “I wouldn’t expect anything less for the jewelry queen,” Jennifer revealed, “It was all him. Total surprise.”
Jennifer and Geoffrey, 33—an investment banker and son of Nigerian billionaire Adebayo Ogunlesi—first sparked romance rumors last summer and made their red-carpet debut last November at the Baby2Baby Gala in Los Angeles.
The 47-year-old was married to Tobey, 49, from 2007 to 2016. The duo, who share children Ruby, 17, and Otis, 15, finalized their divorce in 2020. But they’ve remained on great terms since their split. In fact, Jennifer shared a loving Father’s Day post for Tobey and reflected on their own relationship.
“Happy Father’s Day to the greatest dad/X/bff,” she began the June Instagram caption. “T- don’t know what we did in this life to get so lucky with you! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: no matter where the path ‘together’ brings you, picking a great man to be your baby’s Dad is everything. You are the most loyal, loving, generous, ride-or-die human being.”
She’s previously shared insight into their split and their close relationship since.
“It's been the most beautiful experience of my life having this beautiful breakup," she said on The World's First Podcast in June 2022. "I can't even explain. I would literally do anything in the world for Tobey. He is my brother. I love him to death and we have the most beautiful family."
But it wasn’t without a lot of effort from both of them. "The work is a mother--ker,” Jennifer admitted. “I'm not going to lie. And we did a lot of work to stay on track, to stay a family. It was a choice. And it was trusting the universe has got our back."
Now, keep reading to see who else got engaged in 2024.
